This week I am meditating on God: The Ancient of Days; as seen in Daniel 7:9
“I watched till thrones were put in place,
And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head was like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame,
Its wheels a burning fire;" – NKJV
Questions to ponder:
Q1: What does ancient mean?
Q2: What does this say about God?
Q3: If God is the Ancient of Days, does that change how I pray? Should it? Why or why not?
Q4: If God is the Ancient of Days, does that change how I view my life? Should it? Why or why not?
A prayer:
Father I thank you for being mindful of me. I thank you for your goodness and mercy that will follow me all the days of my life. I thank you that before I was in my mother's womb you knew me. Ancient of Days I ask that you would help me to remember that while I going through life and experiencing things as they happen, you have already seen and worked it out. I acknowledge that you do not operate inside of time as I do, but you are the one who created time! Would you help me to remember you are all knowing and you are intentional. I ask that you would help me change my perspective of who you are and to give you the reverence you are due. For you are God, and you know and love me. In your son Jesus' name, amen.
