This week I am meditating on Jehovah Rapha: the God who heals. Let’s read Exodus 15:22-26 with a focus on verse 26,
‘and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.“‘
Questions to ponder:
Q1: What does it mean to heed?
Q2: Do you heed the voice of the Lord? Why or why not?
Q3: What are the statues of the Lord? Do you keep them?
Q4: What do you need or want the Lord to heal for you?
A prayer:
Father I thank you for your kindness and for your mercies that are new every morning. I ask now that you would reveal to me your statues and your commandments that I may keep them. I also ask that you would help me to heed your voice. Thank you for being the Lord who heals. I ask that you would help me surrender all the places where I am in need of healing and to trust that you will bring me what I need. Thank you, in your son’s name, amen.
