This week I am meditating on El Shaddi: God Almighty; as seen in Genesis 35:11
’Also God said to him: “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.”’ — NKJV
Questions to ponder:
Q1: What does “almighty” mean?
Q2: God spoke to Jacob after he met with Esau and this is what was spoken (Gen 35:1-15). What do you notice here?
Q3: What does it mean for God to be Almighty in your life? How have you seen his mighty hand?
A prayer:
Father I thank you for your sure hand. I thank you that your hand does not waver nor does it hesitate to move for your children. I thank you that I am your child. I surrender my worries, my fears and cast them unto you because you love me (1 Peter 5:7). I ask that you would help me to know you as God Almighty. Thank you for opening my eyes to see and opening my heart to trust you, the trustworthy one. In your son’s name, amen.
