I am in a foreign land
Afraid and confused
Who was it that you said I was?
When did you say I would leave?
My eyes fight to see the good in the middle of all that is bad
My ears strain to hear a voice once heard so loud and clear
My hands ache from being raised above my head
Trying to push off all that is weighing on me
When will you see me and rescue me?
When will you hear me and come running to me?
When will my labor no longer be in vain?
I lay flat on the floor of the shelter you have provided for me
On a stomach you make sure to feed
In a garment you have given to me
I bend on knees you have healed for me
I rest in a room you have chosen for me
My eyes sink just above my feet
Landing on texts you have written for me
Rejoice, and a again I say rejoice
Consider it pure joy when you face trials of any kind
He gives beauty for ashes
Come to me all who are weary and burdened I will give you rest
